About Shauna
I've been a planner my entire life, and I truly believe that communication and organization have always been the keys to my success.
I graduated with a degree in Communications from the Edward R. Murrow school of communications at Washington State University in 2001 and found my calling with event planning. I started out planning corporate trade shows and conventions in Los Angeles, California and Las Vegas, Nevada where I discovered I had a unique ability to see "the big picture" but break it down into smaller, more manageable pieces for everyone involved. I planned events attended by tens of thousands and employed hundreds. I organized featured speakers, directed audio & video companies, worked with food & beverage providers, designed floorplans for hotel and convention union crews, compiled decoration orders with design firms. I even directed a concert with the Blues Travelers for event attendees one year.
In 2009 I moved to the East Coast and transitioned from corporate event planning to wedding planning. As the Event Planner for a private golf and country club on Bald Head Island, North Carolina, I helped plan over 250 weddings, rehearsal dinners, bridal lunches and brunches as well as several other events including anniversary celebrations, family reunions, birthday parties and more.
In 2015, after several years of planning events for other companies, I launched Shauna Loves Planning - a wedding & event planning firm that focuses on budget management, vendor communication and customized design.
When I'm not planning or organizing an event, I spend my days chasing after three little boys that make every day an adventure and one big boy that I'm lucky to call my husband - and without whom, none of this would be possible.
