An engaging time of year...

This week marks the start of the holiday season with Halloween as the official kick-off and then in quick succession: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and Valentines! It's a whirlwind time of year for most people, rushing here and there, seeing this group and that , shopping and eating, shopping and eating, endulging in holiday cheer and ringing in the new year.

We decorate our homes, our lawns,

and ourselves... with some very special sweaters, elastic waistband pants, or the most trending topic in the news.

But this week also marks the beginning of the engagement season and for those of you looking to get engaged, you might be interested to know that Christmas Eve tops the list of dates to get engaged.

According to the UK survey by Chillisauce, Christmas Eve is the best day of the year to get engaged followed by Valentines Day, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, Halloween and New Years Day. Not surprisingly, Thanksgiving day didn't make the list of a survey conducted in the UK, but I imagine it would fall inline somewhere between NYE and Halloween.

Whichever date you choose, if there's one thing I can say with certainty, it's that women like to be surprised, but they also like originaility and romance. So put some thought into it, do some research and planning, get her friends and family involved if that fits her personality. And if you need some inspiration, check out this video of quite possibly the best marriage proposal ever...

Happy Holidays!
